INTEGRATED STUDIO PROJECT 2

The Registry of Marriage hosted a competition for NUS and Temasek Polytechnic students to refurbish their current building. Students were tasked to improve on the existing building and create a meaningful and poetic experience for couples, families and friends.

My design is inspired by the chinese proverb "the Red string of Fate" where everybody is tied to their sole mates, the string might get entangled but it will always lead to the person's one true love. This string is integrated into the site in the form of a ribbon which form is influenced by the programs within the site. This ribbon structure wraps around the entire building and twists horizontally in the center to form a bridge to connect the two building wings.
